History

The Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association (MPDMA) was formed in 2003 by a group of dedicated business owners who wanted to promote awareness of downtown Mount Prospect. The organization has grown since its inception and now hosts four flagship events. The MPDMA, a non-profit organization run by an all-volunteer Board, strives to spread awareness of all that downtown Mount Prospect has to offer. The MPDMA coordinates several successful community events: Saturday Night Car Shows (Bluesmobile Cruise Nights), Fall Festival, Oktoberfest, and Pub Crawl. The MPDMA meets at 8:30 a.m. quarterly (March, June, September, December) at the Mount Prospect Public Library.

The Mission of the Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association is to bring public awareness to Mount Prospect’s downtown area by providing family-oriented, pedestrian friendly events and a convenient way to find and contact downtown businesses, to actively participate in economic and social activities that will enhance the overall growth and prosperity within the downtown area of Mount Prospect, and to encourage and promote quality products, services and business practices of the highest ethical standards. In pursuit of this mission our members are committed to the health, safety and welfare of the community we serve.
